Reproduction 18th-Century British Military Pioneer Serjeant Axe w/Baldric, Mask, & Sheath. Axe head is hand-forged, and measures; 6-7/8" long; 3-5?8" wide at edge; and, 15/16' thick at eye. High-carbon steel cutting edge is forge welded to blade. The blade is stamped with the British broad arrow. The hand-hewn hickory handle is 23-3/4" long. The shoulder rig is 11-12 oz. hide hand-sewn with beeswaxed linen thread. The strap is 13/16" wide. The buckle and ring are forged. The stud finials are forged-and-filed bronze.
