Historically authentic hand forged reproduction of an 18th-century butcher knife imported by the American colonies. The blade is forged and draw-file finished high carbon steel measuring 6-1/8 inches long. The handle measures 4 inches long. The blade is 1/8th inch at its widest at the the junction of blade and handle, tapering distally to the point and tail of the partial tang. For further authenticity, the handle slot is finished off with cutler's resin.
This reproduction comes with a center-seam sheath of thin cowhide, hand stitched with linen thread, It is sealed and slightly stiffened with beeswax.
